Sculptures

From Clay, to Plaster, to Cement, to Bronze and who knows next!

The first time I visited the Gianada Foundation in Switzerland was really the first time that I discovered sculpture. I was 21 years old. The exhibit was "Degas and his Dancers"
I was able to touch the Bronze "Little dancer at Fourteen" without anyone catching me and something magical happened. Ten minutes later, I found myself at the book store. The image on the front of a catalogue dragged me to it. I started turning the pages of the exhibition catalogue of the sculptor, Camille Claudel. I couldn't stop turning one page after an other. I just simply fell in love. Two days later, I was buying clay and sculpting my first sculpture. A Joan of Arc on her knees, hands tighten. It wasn't really good but I was taken.

Since then, my sculptures have evolved. I can sculpt either what I call Organic Abstract (A decomposition of the original form which then, turn into its own forms), or I can also sculpt more realistically where generally lies a story within.
What I look for when I sculpt, is the flow of the form. And I am only satisfied when (it is what I call it) It sings.
